Dior Mitzah limited edition make-up collection

Splurge alert. Because we just couldn’t help ourselves…

Scouting out newness in Harrods last week, before an event, Jo stumbled upon this limited edition collection from Dior – and it has us purring. She couldn’t justify £110 for a make-up palette – notwithstanding the fact that these are sublimely wearable colours… but the leopard-print Dior Forever Dior Perfect Cushion Mitzah Limited Edition foundation compact…? Out with the debit card.

Ditto that card was flexed for an amazing, velvety red Rouge Dior (shade: the iconic Dior Red 999), modelled below by Anya Taylor-Joy, as Dior’s ‘face’ – incredibly pigmented, incredibly soft-textured, incredibly comfy. Because sometimes, after a l-o-n-g but successful week, we need to mark that with something very special.

There’s a wonderful, romantic story behind the name ‘Mitzah’, which is part of its allure, meanwhile. Mitzah Bricard was Dior’s muse, an incredibly glamorous woman who swathed herself in leopard print, teetered on high heels, and probably smoked like a chimney – as most beauties did, back then.

‘Bricard is one of those people, increasingly rare, who make elegance their sole reason for being,’ Christian Dior wrote in his autobiography, Christian Dior and I.

And in an age of trainers and jeans, that’s even more special, we reckon. Jo will attempt to channel her, when repairing her foundation or lipstick at the table – because aren’t these too good to confine to the Ladies’ room…?
