Beauty Bible Loves... Cosmetics à la Carte Sheer Brilliance 'Pavilion Road'
The other day, we had the great joy of a visit to Cosmetics à la Carte’s gorgeous Chelsea flagship.
We’re not going to tell you how far back we go with Cosmetics à la Carte founder Lynne Sanders. We’re just not. But suffice to say: we’re still doing what we do best, which is sharing news of fab products – and she’s still giving us things to flag up to you.
Appropriately enough, the reason for our catch-up was the launch of a fabulous lip gloss, named for the street on which you’ll find CALC’s boutique, below – the increasingly glorious shopping spot, Pavilion Road, just a stone’s throw from Peter Jones on Sloane Square.
This isn’t a new product – but a new shade of a Beauty Bible Award-winning lip gloss, Sheer Brilliance. Except… it’s more than that. On the lips, this feels like a luxurious lip treatment, and indeed, it’s powered by collagen-boosting peptides, lanolin and vitamin E. As comfy as comfy gets, frankly.
As our testers commented, about the winning product:
‘The single best new find beauty product of the last few years. Natural looking but also glamorous and elegant. I cannot find fault with it. It lasts through dinner and several gin and tonics. It is moisturising and so easy to wear…I am so utterly over the moon to discover this beautiful gloss.’
‘While it looks like a gloss, it feels like a balm - the best of both worlds. Probably my favourite lip product of all time.’ And…
‘The applicator brush is really good, much better than some of my usual ones. Its precise, brings out just enough and really good to define your lips. Impressive and just showed how rubbish my usual ones are!’
The shade itself is a lightly shimmering ‘bronzed plum’, which enhances your lip’s colour without being over-dramatic. And it’s so foolproof, you could honestly apply it without a mirror.
Our advice: apply – or simply re-apply – AFTER you’ve treated yourself to a cornet from Ice Cream Union, just a little further up Pavilion Road!
