Beauty Bible Loves... Beauty Bible Loves… Argan Skin Rescue
With any luck, the worst of the weather is behind us. But this is the time of year to give skin a real, last-minute boost before the season shifts and we turn down the thermostat. (Or even turn off the central heating altogether, which is good both for skin and the bank balance.)
This is a super-mega-uber-nourishing facial oil which can properly replenish. It’s from the brand created by Pauline Hili, another in our series of brilliant female founders, who for many years worked for Neal’s Yard Remedies as formulator, and sat on the Soil Association committee (chaired by Jo) which thrashed out the tricky standards for organic health and beauty certification.
We’ve huge respect for Pauline, whose skincare knowledge is encyclopaedic, and who now channels her energies and deep expertise into her Nourish London range. We’ve often featured her product creations here (and indeed, several have in the past scooped Beauty Bible Awards), but this is a new-to-us fave, a properly barrier-boosting facial oil based around argan (for suppleness), together with Abyssinian and bitter orange oils, to improve hydration and elasticity.
Suitable for all skintypes, you can almost FEEL Nourish London Argan Skin Rescue strengthening the skin barrier, which is impacted by the exfoliants many of us are using right now for a little extra late winter glow, and by the skin-dehydrating effects of dry indoor air; that’s like a vicious circle, because the more the barrier’s impacted, the easier it is for moisture in the skin to escape – and so the cycle goes on.
No scent, really, so it won’t clash with your other skincare products, either. (In fact, you can simply add a drop or two to your regular night cream, and turbo-charge its barrier-boosting effect.)
And if there’s another cold snap in the offing? You’ll have this on standby, waiting to answer a dryness S.O.S.
