Fab Find of the Week: HUDA Beauty Yo Glow Candy Cane Enzyme Scrub

When brands that are famed for creating amazing make-up move into skincare, the results are often disappointing. But we’ve been pretty blown away by Huda Kattan’s HUDA Beauty skincare launches – and this is an absolute keeper, from the range. 

A lot of us are looking drab right now. Frankly, it’s a perfect storm for skin: storms themselves (which make getting outdoors for those complexion-boosting walks more challenging), along with the energy-sapping corona ‘blahs’. 

One single session with this, though, we found transformational. It combines papaya and pineapple extracts – renowned enzymatic exfoliants – with BHAs and AHAs. (No sensitivity issues to report on that front, however.) There’s also cellulose, to remove dead skin cells and retexturise. (The smell, incidentally, is what the ‘Candy Cane’ name refers to – and it is a tad on the sweet side, but we’re prepared to overlook that in the name of a satin-smooth complexion. 

You rub the milky gel into dry skin, and most satisfyingly, dead skin and product roll off again. What’s left behind is radiant, glow-y, been-for-a-walk-even-though-it’s-hideous-out-there skin that is smooth as silk, and just slurps up whatever you apply to it next. 

Bottom line: if you’re over 30, don’t be put off by the idea of using a product called ‘Yo Glow’ – you’ll not only look a little younger, after using this, but perhaps even feel a tad more hip, too.
