Aveda Tulasāra Wedding Masque

We're becoming very fond of this new range from Aveda, having already given the Tulasāra Morning Awakening Ritual (with its complexion-stimulating facial brush) a rave review, here. We also very much like this Aveda Tulasāra Wedding Masque, which can be slathered on generously overnight to leave skin looking decidedly perky, plumped – and perhaps even a teensy bit 'lifted', unless we're imagining things? – by morning.

'Overnight masks' (a.k.a. 'sleeping masks') are really not that different from night creams, as we've explained before. This particular option can certainly be used nightly – or for an occasional boost – and is inspired by a pre-wedding ceremony in India in which home-made turmeric paste is applied to the complexions of the bride and groom to encourage glowing skin on their wedding day; with its tendency to stain skin, that's not something we'd counsel for Western complexions. (Tulasāra, we're told, means 'working towards balance', in Sanskrit – something we're always striving for!)

Apricot seed oil, along with repairing potato, red raspberry and tomato stem cells, also feature.

It smells just fab, fab, fab – which, for us, is half of the point of many products. It's truly the scent of India: a little bit spicy, a little bit tropical – like an Ayurvedic spa, somewhere hot. And the texture itself is rich, without being greasy, allowing for generous slathering.

We're definitely saying 'I do' to using this regularly.
